Surely there are a hundred ways to approach youth ministry, just as there are for all things in life. At BRCC, our desire is to cultivate the whole personhood of our youth toward the goal of knowing, receiving and pouring out the love of Jesus. We like to have fun, but more importantly, we're interested in the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social and physical health of our youth as they traverse into adulthood. For all of us who've lived it, we know the years between 12 and 18 can be tough, sometimes full of angst and confusion, and we want our youth ministry to be a soft landing spot for the hard things. Through fellowship, teaching, relationship building, and community involvement, we try to draw our young people near the heart of God, into His giant, precious, and wholly redemptive love.

We gather together each Sunday night at 7:00 pm in the YMCA Library for teaching and prayer groups. Every other Wednesday during the school year and every Wednesday of the summer, a family in our community hosts a pot-luck style meal and time of fellowship. Once a month, usually the first Saturday, we plan a special fun event, and in the summer we spend a week at Camp. We also take retreats each Fall and Spring, sometimes away on an adventure and other times restfully here in town. If you or your child is between the 7th and 12th grades, we'd love for you to join us.

We always welcome new volunteers too. Currently, our volunteer team is broken down into three parts and coordinated by co-directors. Anyone can volunteer in a general way, attending Sunday evening, Wednesday and special event gatherings as able, or you can choose to participate with one of our teams: Meal Hosting, Teaching, and Social Event Planning. All teams operate on a rotating schedule, so if you host Wednesday meals or teach on Sundays, you will do so every 6-8 weeks. If you'd like to help plan monthly social events, you should anticipate planning one event about every three months. The most important thing to us, is that our students receive love and guidance from trustworthy, Jesus-loving people who feel spiritually led to serve with this ministry. If that's you, then please contact Tabatha Coker.
