Heather Stevens

Heather loves the beautiful complicated mess that is the body of Christ. Some of her greatest joys are seeking truth together through the study of scripture and the learning and conversation that accompanies it.

She’s been part of Broad River Community Church since the early days when it was just a group of disciples having a Bible study at the coffee shop trying to figure out the next step.

Heather serves as the director of Feeding Kids Cleveland County, a community wide weekend and school break food program.

Heather is the wife of Seth, mother of Lynsie, owner of Simon, the eternal puppy, and 11 crazy chickens. She enjoys good conversation, delicious food, unrestrained laughter, captivating stories and beauty in the everyday.

Daniel Thomas

Daniel is a passionate Believer who loves Boiling Springs and Broad River Community Church. He is married to Sarah, and they have three kids: Samuel, Sydney, and Isaac. He is thankful for how each of his kids brings insight, love, fun, and comfort to his home in unique ways. Daniel is a high school history teacher at Crest High School and desires to challenge students to recognize that they are loved and choose to live lives rich with deep relationships and thoughtful action.

Daniel loves to study scripture and read scholarship, especially books by his favorite theologian, NT Wright. He teaches regularly at Broad River and hosts Bible studies and book studies in his home. One of his favorite places to talk life and scripture is around the fire in his back yard. If you’re reading this, you are invited!

Daniel and Sarah lead the college ministry at Broad River by creating space and time where college students can build relationships, discuss the deeper things, and become like family.

Scott Pitts

Scott is a disciple of Christ, which is primarily walked out in his relationships with his wife Carla, their four children Grace, Luke, Isaac and James, as well as in relationships with others in the body. He loves studying and talking about the Lord and the Bible, hearing the details of others' lives, and getting a more accurate picture of their journey and relationship with the Lord. He so enjoys seeing and helping disciple others into a deeper understanding of the Word.

Scott is a staff member of an online Bible school through Youth With A Mission called The School of Biblical Studies.  He teaches and disciples individual students from different parts of the world as they work through the school.  He also occasionally teaches students who are taking part in the more traditional Schools of Biblical Studies on different YWAM bases around the world.

Scott also works as a "handyman" in the area, doing hardwood and tile flooring, remodeling and renovations.
